Punjab T20 League Powered: Jalandhar Warriors captain Prabhsimran Singh dedicated his team’s seven-run victory over Ludhiana Lions to the family of teammate Anmol Malhotra, whose mother passed away three days ago.
Jalandhar Warriors defeated Ludhiana Lions in the Mankind Pharma Sher-E-Punjab T20 League Powered by Punjab Kings at the I.S. Bindra Stadium here, producing a strong all-round effort to secure the closely fought win.
The Warriors had visited Anmol’s residence ahead of the match and spent time with him and his family during a difficult period. Despite the personal loss, Anmol remained connected with the team, and Prabhsimran said the players wanted to stand by their teammate and dedicate the victory to him and his family.
“We had a meeting yesterday. We went to Anmol’s house and spent time with him. We are very thankful to Anmol for contributing to our team in such a tough time,” Prabhsimran said after the match.
The Jalandhar captain acknowledged the emotional difficulty Anmol was facing and said the entire team had assured him that he would not have to go through the difficult period alone.
“We are with him in this tough time. Obviously, it’s sad. He is our family, and we are there for him whenever he needs us,” he added.
The Warriors’ victory came after they were tested at different stages of the contest. Their batting unit struggled to build sustained momentum, but the bowling and fielding departments stepped up when it mattered to secure the seven-run win.
For Prabhsimran, however, the significance of the result extended beyond the cricketing contest.
The Warriors’ players also sought to ensure that Anmol continued to feel part of the team despite the circumstances, with the victory serving as a tribute to his mother and an expression of support for their teammate.
